Some pets have died under their care from surgeries that are fairly common and that usually would not happen with other veterinarians. We want to know your story if this has happened to you.

A Few Recent Experiences...

and yes, these really happened...

Unfortunately the Dr. did a procedure on my Cat and he died as a result of the procedure. Anesthesia is tricky and I'm guessing that he had a stroke because we got him home and he was groggy from the meds but he never was able to walk with his back legs again. That night we had to make an emergency trip to Wilmington so he could go peacefully. I called the next day to let them know and not to order the medication, while they were caring on the phone and wished their condolences the Dr was out (she does not work there on Thursdays) and they said that they would let her know. We never heard back from Dr or even received a condolence card from them. This vet had been working with our pet for over a month as he was getting sick and we heard nothing. I would not take Cats there as I just think they are better suited for Dogs. They might care but we never heard back from them so not sure about how caring they really are, maybe just too busy not sure. Very disappointed.

They are totally irresponsible in caring for your pet. I had my dog Lucky there to have his teeth cleaned and they over medicated him. Never checked his vitals and euthanized my dog and killing him out of neglect.

I took my Cat to them because he got very sick and they ran blood work gave him meds and charged me a lot of money just for them to tell me that they couldn't figure out what was wrong with him and it would cost me even more money to figure it out. In the meantime I'm out of money to save my cat and he's worse than ever. I now have to euthanize him instead of watching him suffer anymore. Thanks a lot!

Do not go there. Please read why.I took my 13 year old cat Toby in Tues 4/28 as he was not eating and had strained breathing. After a litany of tests, blood work, Dr leaned toward liver failure. I questioned that as even a non-veterinarian and asked her about it. They gave home nutrients, antibiotics and said he would be good as new in a couple days. Not so. He got worse, much worse. I called, receptionist looked at his chart...give it a bit longer...Tuesday the 5th I called back desperate for answers and brought him back in...have him appetite stimulator, pain meds...away we went.. By 4:30am Wed 5/6 he was screaming struggling to breathe... pain med I administered. Rushed him to Wilmington emergency hospital where they diagnosed him with congenital heart failure. He was euthanized. This was the most negligent misdiagnosis is could have imagined. We both suffered immensely.

They wanted to remove a cats eye without any tests. Took the cat to another vet, they gave him meds and he was able to regain sight in that eye. That's inexcusable.

I hate that it makes me leave a star at all.... I'm a local an have been since 1992. This was the ONLY vet we even considered.. It's not the same place anymore. If you love your furever toddlers, don't take them here. Unless you want to meet the very sweet lady running the companion cremations, don't take your furbabies here... They will charge you for services, an never do them... We just lost our sweet baby boy because they didn't do the job I asked for, and was charged for. He would have been 9 this year. His human brother got to witness him dying. It could have been prevented if it wasn't for their laziness an lack of heart for their job. He was rushed to the er vet in Wilmington. Bless their heart. The x-ray technician was furious when she read his x-rays... He had a stomach tumor, an a prostate tumor... Something that could have been caught an fixed before it shut him down. I know majority of the locals here... I've heard of xxxxxxxxxx animal hospital removing the breathing tubes to early after someone brought their pet in to be fixed, an causing their pets to die on the table... This place should not even exist. Please take my advice... If you love your babies... Don't take them here...

They refused to give our baby boy an x-ray as requested, an we were charged for. our baby got real sick. we took him to an emergency room in Wilmington (who was PISSED) when the x-rays came back... the next day he passed... he had a tumor in his stomach, and prostate... if they had done what was asked of them he would still be here... . they are very carless.. an their office hasn't been cleaned in what looks like years. animal piss that had long since dried... This was the only vet we have ever taken our fur babies to. They are not the same caring people they once we're... when we brought our baby in to be put to sleep, she started it off with a nasty attitude.. Then she grabbed our baby's foot an pricked him in the pads of his feet with what you would have given a Yorkie.. it was a very stressful situation, an our baby was so scared up to his last breath... we had no choice he was heading into kidney failure. He was suffering . That is hands down the most traumatic and heartbreaking experience I've ever been though... An thanks to their negligence, I will continue to make sure that no self respecting pet owner takes their fur babies to that crappy place..
